Making a difference in people’s lives has motivated me across a career spanning pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and innovative diagnostic tests. As a CFO, President, CEO and Board member in companies ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 500, I know that every day my work is directed toward providing novel, innovative solutions for patients and physicians in important disease areas. Those areas have included bacterial and viral infections, oncology, and chronic diseases. Early in my career I brought a business development, financial and strategic skill set to my work, but I have been able to build a clinical and scientific knowledge base by learning from leading research scientists and clinicians from around the world. I have also had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with health system executives, regulators, payers and policy makers who work to safeguard patients and assure high quality and effective healthcare is available to patients. Based on what I have learned from those collaborations, the last decade of my career has focused on promoting personalized medicine approaches and building value-based models that improve care delivery and patient outcomes.I also understand that delivering value for investors and partners is the best way to fund important innovations in healthcare. That is accomplished by setting and achieving clear commercial/operational initiatives that align better patient care with business success. By combining that with a focus on creating an environment for employees and teams to succeed we can succeed in deliver the solutions that will make the difference in the most challenging decisions patients and their families face every day.
