As a legislative intern, I supported the Legislative Staff and Office by performing a variety of tasks, including:Research: Researched infrastructure and energy policies to support the Legislative Staff.Writing & Communication: Wrote memos and other documents to communicate information to the Legislative Staff, constituents, and other stakeholders.Data entry: Entered constituent casework data into computer systems to help the Legislative Staff track and manage information.Organization: kept track of files, documents, and other materials to help the office stay organized.In addition to the skills listed above, my legislative internship also provided me with the opportunity to learn about the legislative process and to gain experience working in a professional environment. This was a highly valuable experience for me as a young professional who is interested in pursuing a career in government or public policy.

I worked as an Editorial assistant for the International Studies Quarterly, the flagship journal of the International Studies Association, while it was located in the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy. In this role, I reviewed submitted manuscripts and checked for format, content, and listing errors, assisted the Senior Editors by providing administrative support ad hoc and coordinating the revision process.

Assist the Global Security Program in the Issues in Civil Wars dataset project. The ICW project involves reviewing academic literature, data, field notes, and conducting research on a range of topics. This position involved the completion of annotated bibliographies, written drafts of literature reviews, coding data, and providing other research support as directed. This position was funded through an NSF grant to create a new database on rebel group grievances.
