Too often, in my experience, teachers focus on rules and the technicalities of language, making the language learning experience a wrestling match of frustration and feelings of inadequacy. The challenge for me is to find the path to the language learner's understanding, and to do this, I need to take the learner as a whole into consideration - their strengths, their fears and their beliefs about their language ability. Instead of trying to force language into learners, I try to open doors that enable them to learn for themselves by focusing on meaning. My mission is thus: To assist learners to realise their own learning capacity, to motivate and encourage, to develop and strengthen the underlying confidence that makes language learning possible, to give a firm grounding in grammar that stems not from blindly applying rules but by focusing on an understanding of meaning.Specialties: In house company training, one-to-one, workshops, online writing training, course planning, needs analysis, conversation classes.
