Chair Of Computer Graphics & AnimationInternational Academy Of Design And Technology (Iadt) Apr 1991 - Oct 1995I began at the International Academy of Design & Technology as a part-time instructor. Within 6 months of joining the college I was commissioned to develop and write a submission to the Ontario Ministry of Education for a new department at the college: Computer Graphics. The Ministry approved the submission in record time (3 weeks) and I was responsible for the development of all aspects of the curriculum including syllabi, teaching aids and testing modules. I hired and managed the staff, taught classes myself, promoted the program through open houses, purchased the equipment, provided technical support and developed the various promotional materials – brochures, TV commercials, videos etc. I was also responsible for the introduction of computers into the Advertising Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising departments. The introduction of computers to the Academy rejuvenated the entire college.I also set up the Computer Graphics departments at the Montreal, Chicago and Tampa campuses, including the submissions to applicable provincial and state regulators, hiring and training of staff and purchase of equipment.Two years after launching the Toronto Computer Graphics department, I co-developed the Computer Animation program, which included the development of course syllabi, review of technical requirements, development of promotional material and hiring of staff. The Computer Animation program utilized the SGI computer platform and SoftImage high-end computer animation applications. -
