Before October 2008 I was a shy, timid and virtually invisible young dreamer, until I read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki and "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. At that moment I decided to better myself and I took on one of my greatest fears; which at the time was public speaking. I courageously campaigned to be a student leader in my final year of High School and I shockingly won. After that defining moment in my life I have since fearlessly taken on numerous challenges which included a countrywide workshop spearheaded by Women's Action For Development (WAD) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, educating and motivating women on constitutional rights and the need to part-take in politics; as well as the role of Public Relations Officer for Namibia Chess Federation, which saw me having to speak on live public television and writing newspaper articles for the federation. These, including working for a Student run Law Review, had me juggling school and work throughout my time in law school.Needless to say, I see myself continuing to work hard and improving myself and creating an environment where I am a servant to the people and where I help others to be the best they can be. I strongly believe in the mantra that, "If this world is mine alone, then I do not want it."Fast forward to my current journey in life, I graduated from law-school and worked as a State Prosecutor, Candidate Legal Practitioner and most recently as a Senior District Magistrate. My real passion however has always been that of working with children and teaching chess and so I returned back to be a Chess Coach at my academy that I founded in 2016 and to date (December 2023), we have around 600 active students that we teach across Namibia and even won an award as Academy of the Year which only motivates me and my team to continue being influential to children using chess as a catalyst.
