● Responsible for day-to-day management of the six-person IT Department, including recruiting, performance management, onboarding, and mentoring. ● Oversee the organization’s technology operations for approximately 400 employees in a highly mobile workforce: internal staff tech support, network management, information security, and maintaining and securing 600+ workstations and mobile devices.● Steer and oversee all organizational technology-related initiatives.● Manage the IT department’s annual operating budget. ● Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and partners. ● Work with outside consultants to identify areas for cost savings.● Serve on the organization’s Leadership Council.● Work closely with the organization’s Quality & Compliance Officer on developing HIPAA Security Policies and Procedures.● Member of Safety Committee which identifies and manages risks to the organization’s property and data.

● Lead the organization’s Technology Management unit. Directly manage four staff members and oversee the organization’s technology operations: technology strategic planning, internal and external customer tech support, web development, MakerSpaces, technology outreach and training, staff IT troubleshooting, budgeting and purchasing, and securing and maintaining 400+ workstations. ● Serve on the organization’s Executive Leadership Team, the decision-making body of the organization. Work closely with the Library’s Director and five other senior leaders on this cross-functional team. ● Oversee technology operations and planning for the seven-location library system and manage an annual half million dollar operating budget. ● Shepard library technology projects through all phases of the project lifecycle while monitoring the budget, scope, and risks.● Manage the library’s participation in the annual federal E-rate program, including developing requests for proposals, bid selection, and invoicing. ● Responsible for PCI compliance for the library system, including physical and online credit card transactions. ● Lead staff training on various tools such as Microsoft 365, various new cloud platforms, and new hardware.● Develop procedures to ensure technology support is handled in an efficient and successful manner.● Represent the library on Durham County Government committees.
