As the Director of Research Initiatives I provided the College with support in establishing teams of researchers to address larger research efforts to address larger problems. Assisted the College in writing proposals and soliciting research funds that transitioned much of the fundamental research towards applied research.

As the Director of Research and Technology I managed programs in the areas of advanced materials for transparent optical windows, hypersonic propulsions and flight, advanced ceramic armors, synthesis of advanced material powders/precursors, solid and liquid propulsion nozzles and several other advanced material efforts primarily focused on structural materials. I was responsible for ensuring that the companies research efforts remained at the leading edge of efforts in the area of propulsion, CMCs and optics.

As the Chief Scientist I work on initiating and managing several programs involved in developing advanced materials. Of particular note was transparent polycrystalline spinel development for optical windows, domes and armor as well as the development of very high temperature structural materials for propulsion, thrust, hypersonic and space applications. Also ceramic armor work for defeat of AP projectiles and long rod penetrators. As Chief Scientist my goals were to maintain a high technical standard within the company in the projects we adopted and the work we performed.

As project leader I was involved in managing several programs in the category of "new technologies" focused primarily on microwave interactions with materials, synthesis of novel powder morphologies and advanced approaches to electrolytic processing of materials.
