I was responsible for promoting research funding opportunities and identifying new sources of research funding for academics at the University of Huddersfield. I supported them to develop their funding bids and identified plans to promote this success and how to engage with their beneficiaries. My responsibilities included:• Joint project manager for a major public engagement event, Researchers' Night, attracting over 2500 people in September 2011. I also had specific responsibility for managing the marketing budget and developing the marketing plan.• Developing and maintaining the internal staff research webpages, setting up and maintaining social media profiles. • Training staff new to research on how to find funding and how to develop successful funding bids.

I was responsible for marketing the various activities, projects and initiatives undertaken by different teams within the regeneration service, including campaign-development, press releases, event organisation, the production of promotional materials and web content development. I also had joint responsibility for the promotion of numerous major (outdoor) town centre events involving the planning and evaluation of marketing campaigns, budget management, consultation with external design agencies and active use of social networking sites to promote such events.

I managed the European Information Service for the council which provided funding updates and information on EU policies to council departments, businesses and voluntary sector organisations. I also supported the European Manager to manage a £7 million funded project which aimed to develop skills in Kirklees and work closely with local employers.

I had joint-responsibility for the work of the Erasmus team reporting directly to senior management and the European Commission. My key roles and responsibilities included:• joint day-to-day management of a culturally diverse team• induction and training of new staff• assessment of final reports and financial claims from European Universities• monitoring of European funded projects, including monitoring visits to European Universities• managing financial appeals and individual case reviews with European Commission staff.

I was responsible for the European exchange programme (Socrates-Erasmus) for the university and joint responsibility for the marketing of Lancaster University to potential international undergraduate and postgraduate students. My responsibilities included:• promoting the European exchange programme across the university• liaising with university departments, European partner universities and the European Commission to monitor and develop the exchange programme• developing a marketing strategy to target European undergraduate students.

Teaching a range of courses and levels of English - including conversation, business and grammar to groups and individuals.
