Over the first 9 years of my time at Zelis and The Ignition Group (aquired by Zelis in 2018), I led development teams, including application developers, database developers and DBAs, and QA professionals to create, enhance, and maintain external and internal applications. Employing both Agile and hybrid methodologies, I communicated business needs, daily and weekly goals, and delivery expectations. I measured team and individual members' performance, and made hiring/firing decisions for the development teams. I also had input and responsibility for the selection of technology vendors impacting my teams. In addition to the responsibilities above, I managed the company's Microsoft Azure cloud presence for the NetMinder application, including networking, servers, web services, and security, as well as on-premises hardware and software technology assets. I served as the subject-matter expert for all technology assets related to these applications, and lead a team of network administrators that deployed, configured and maintained all such assets. In addition, I made recommendations for security policies, procedures, and implementations.

I started Devlab because I wanted to leverage my experience as a web developer in more wide-ranging ways. As President and chief developer of this web applications development firm, I was responsible for all aspects of the business, from software design and testing, to sales and marketing. I managed projects and resources, including outsourced developers and designers. The types of projects we engaged in included everything from basic web sites to database development to larger-scale process automation.Devlab was a successful company that helped dozens of clients over its eleven-year lifespan. I shut down the company when a client made me an employment offer that was too enticing to pass up.

As Director of IT, I designed and supported all of the firm's information technology, including the Windows network, workstations and mobile computing, and online presence. I created multiple web sites for the firm's clients, as well as intranet applications.
