About Mark Petzold

An electrical engineer with both industry and academic experience. I am currently working on developing virtual reality applications for education, focused on bringing real-world data into the virtual environment quickly for classroom and homework experiences.I am currently teaching classes in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, including Wireless Communication, Adaptive and Statistical Filtering, Error Control Coding, Spread Spectrum Systems, and Computer Programming. I have also taught Project Management in the Master's of Engineering Management program. I have been a successful leader in the department on accreditation, curriculum, and assessment projects. I have led the project to continue accreditation for our Electrical Engineering program, and obtained first-time accreditation for our Computer Engineering program. I have also led the project to update our curriculum in both programs.

I have written the Self-Study for Accreditation of the Computer Engineering program, and this Self-Study was the basis for the Electrical Engineering Self-Study.I have led hiring efforts for our department, and worked on a successful campus-wide committee to hire an Associate Vice President for International Studies.
