I managed all of Biologics Modular's construction projects within the Cannabis industry, primarily C1D1-rated modular extraction and processing suites. I was responsible for taking ownership of and managing our business relationship with one of the top processing equipment companies in the Cannabis space. Responsibilities include:- Conceptual and Design engineering of Biologics' new line of Modular Extraction Suites and coordinating with outside engineering firms to ensure complete and compliant documentation.- Serve as a Subject-Matter Expert on Cannabis Processing and Hazardous Location Compliance (C1D1/C1D2).- Day-to-day management and supervision of modular suite construction projects.- Management of sub-contractors as well as seeking out and evaluating potential new sub-contractors whose business goals align with Biologics Modular.- Provide up-to-date scheduling and progress information to key stakeholders, both internally and externally to the company.

I consult with clients of CBD Modular and provide guidance for processing raw hemp and cannabis into high-quality extracts at-scale. This includes equipment selection, process flow documentation, SOP development, and feasibility analysis.Most recently consulted on a vertically-integrated hemp cultivation and processing operation in the Mid-Atlantic region. Deliverables included:- Detailed process flow diagrams and capital expenditure estimates for processing schemes utilizing either hydrocarbon or CO2 extraction methods- Documentation of existing personnel and assets suitable for hemp processing.- Feasibility report documenting the major factors with potential to affect the success of the operation, with recommendations of how to effectively address these factors.Based on recommendations provided, the operation reduced their start-up costs by approximately $2.5MM and strategically utilized their existing infrastructure to successfully establish their product brand in the local market.

My primary expertise was process development for post-processing of crude hemp extract into saleable wholesale products such as full-spectrum distillate and CBD Isolate. Additionally, I managed and coordinated capital improvement projects, including:- Installation and commissioning of a biologics-grade clean room- Installation, start-up, and process development of a large hydrocarbon extraction unit, capable of processing up to 500lb in a 9-hour shift- Installation and process development of a Wiped-Film Evaporator Distillation Unit- Design, document, and manage a bulk hydrocarbon storage and process supply capital improvement projectIn addition to engineering responsibilities, I also led a team to document Standard Operating Procedures and provide hands-on training to new hourly employees in order to facilitate safe operation of equipment with minimal downtime.

- Responsible for analyzing clients' pressure relief systems and preparing detailed documentation and reports on the adequacy of their pressure relief valves during a potential overpressure scenario. Work completed was primarily in the Oil & Gas Industry.- Familiar with reading and interpreting various plant documentation including, but not limited to: Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, ASME spec sheets for pressure vessels, specification sheets for relief valves and rupture discs.- Familiar with industry standards and literature relating to process safety such as API 520, 521, ASME Section VIII, and OSHA standards for fire safety.- Trained in petrochemical fluid mechanics calculations to simulate the behavior of a potentially volatile 2-phase fluid as it passes through a relief valve orifice with large pressure drop.- Collaborated with colleague to write a paper discussing the mitigating and aggravating factors of a plant-wide external fire as it relates to the potential to cause overpressure. This paper was the basis for a brief talk and slide show that was presented at a major process safety conference.
