Founded an enterprise Project Management Office and improved project management skills, processes and systems across the organisation. Selected and deployed an enterprise project management system [PMG Hydra]. Line management of Product Development division with 70 people and £6 million budget, working with Enterprise Java, Perl and Oracle8i technologies on Solaris, Windows, Linux and HP-UX platforms. Took over an existing development team of 12 individuals, and identified shortcomings in quality and timeliness of software deliveries. Formulated and agreed a strategic plan within the management board. Recruited 60 additional people into the group, and built upon the technical and management abilities of some existing team members to allow them to step up into new roles. Put in place system testing, configuration management, third line support and outsourcing functions. Delivered Mediasurface 3 at a significantly higher level of quality than any previous software release within Mediasurface. Worked with other parts of the business to define and implement the product strategy for future Enterprise Java-based product line. Negotiated contracts then built and managed relationships with third parties in UK, Northern Ireland and India.Clients included a global live entertainment brand, an engineering consulting firm and a Swiss bank.

Responsible for a one year systems development project using Microsoft DNA technology to deliver an intranet-based content management system for multi-media training materials to a major UK telco. Project peaked at 15 people and had a budget of over £1 million. Later given business development responsibility for productising this system, developing a business plan and identifying potential partners.
