I have a PhD in economics with specializations in Latin American economic development, migration, international business, and gender in development. My consulting work includes evaluation of gender in development training programs in Latin America. Recent initiatives include: multidisciplinary programs for sustainable development and renewable energy in Latin America; 'rapid response' projects to address the refugee crisis in Europe; academic direction and support to the Arctic Initiative encompassing the eight countries of the Arctic Council; and, groundbreaking diaspora programs in Africa and Greece. For my leadership forging public private partnerships I was recognized as the 2013 International Person of the Year. I am fluent in Spanish and English with proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese.
