For the past 7+ years I have functioned as an Incident Response Lead Investigator responding to a multitude of client emergencies ranging from Ransomware, Denial of Service attacks, Data Exfiltration, Malicious Insiders and Malware. During this time I have provided guidance in the selection, implementation and configuration of security controls to help detect and contain malicious activity, handling and investigation of malware and virus outbreaks, performed Root Cause analyses and provided recommendations for efforts and controls to mitigate threat actors impact on client networks. When not engaged in active Emergency Response Services, I also participate in the creation of client run books, incident response plan creation or review and the creation and delivery of Security Incident Simulations (Tabletop Exercises). I have direct experience functioning inside the constraints that are particular to various customer segments such as Finance, Energy, Health Care, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Retail and Public Sector and Federal agencies. Prior to working in IR, I was a subject matter expert for the Symantec EDR (Endpoint Protection suite) security controls and served in a cross-functional role between the Support, Development and Threat Intelligence teams. Earlier still at Symantec, I was a remote product specialist, consultant, client staff augmentation operative and various other roles dating back to the Melissia virus outbreak in 1999.
