As a professor, researcher, and entrepreneur, I have spent the last decade working with organizations to improve engagement through the use of humor, laughter, and play. I have published research on humor's role in teaching, humor and its effects on supervisors and employees, and written numerous articles and blog posts detailing the importance of humor in our organizational lives. Humor, laughter, and play are not the opposites of work they're necessary aspects of a full life. We can't be as successful or engaged when laughter and humor are absent. I research humor, I love humor, and while my wife rolls her eyes at my jokes, people tell me I'm funny. Why not take this experience and knowledge and help other people, organizations and groups try and use humor more effectively. I am routinely given high marks for humor in the classroom, so I want to bring that engagement to others. The Boring Stuff:Direct the day to day operations of a program with a student enrollment on average of ~650 students. Fundraising and development management, student coaching and mentoring, curriculum development, are all some of my responsibilities.
