My core competencies include developing and productionizing Bayesian models, integrating sports analysis (predominantly baseball, basketball, football, hockey, golf, and soccer) into proprietary tools and applications, providing technical guidance to analysts and associates, and conducting ad hoc data queries and presentations. I also have a strong background in wind energy science, engineering, and policy, which I studied as part of my co-major PhD program at Iowa State University. My mission is to leverage my expertise in data science and sports statistics to help sports organizations and media outlets gain insights and competitive advantages from data. I enjoy working with collaborative teams, exploring new or emerging techniques and technologies, and communicating complex analysis through clear and compelling reports and visualizations. I am passionate about advancing the field of sports analytics and contributing to the innovation and growth of the sports industry.

Research Assistant: Statistics/Electrical Engineering DepartmentsIowa State University - College Of Liberal Arts And Sciences Jun 2017 - Jun 2018Ames, Ia, UsFunding provided through a National Science Foundation Fellowship to conduct statistical research within the field of wind energy."Small-Scale Wind Turbine Recurrence and Cost Modeling as a Function of Operational Covariates from Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems" by: Michael S. Czahor and William Q. Meeker (2018)Finalize software that I have developed to simulate repairable systems lifetime behavior at the subsystem and component levels. The software allows the user to set different maintenance policies to assist in maximizing profits for their assets over different time periods. Both fleet level and individual system maintenance policy development are possible within the software. The software is adaptable across all industries and will be made available for public use via an R package. The title of the publication (preparing) is below:"Use of Repairable System Simulation to Set Maintenance Policy" by: Michael S. Czahor and William Q. Meeker (2018) -

Reliability Engineer ConsultantFraunhofer-Gesellschaft May 2015 - Sep 2015München, Bavaria, DeAnalysis of comprehensive field data (failure data, operating data, some environmental data) and residual-life prognosis of power converters in doubly fed induction generator wind turbines. Work completed in R, SAS, and MATLAB. Weekly reports generated to update colleagues on relevant results.Project Description (from Fraunhofer's website): Operation and maintenance account for around a third of the life cycle costs of wind plants. System reliability will play a central role in the further sinking of LCOE for wind turbines. At the same time, the focus should be on the components which represent the principal cost drivers due to higher failure rates / longer downtimes. This is particularly applicable to the power electronic frequency converters used in practically all modern wind turbines nowadays. As the connector between the generator and system transformer, they are used for the power-frequency connection of variable speed wind turbines to the power supply grid. They ensure compliance with the grid connection conditions and permit optimal utilisation of the available wind. The combination of dynamic loads typical of wind and extreme environmental conditions places particularly high requirements on the power electronics. In addition to extensive evaluation of field data and damage analyses in laboratories, simulation models will be optimised in order to be able to reproduce better the loads acting on power electronics whilst taking the overall plant dynamics during operation into consideration. The development of systems for early detection of faults in electronic plant components and the design of innovative, fault-tolerant generator/converter concepts for the next generation of wind turbines are additional focal points. -
