About Md. Abul Basar

Md. Abul Basar currently serving the Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation as the Project Director for SIMS (Strengthened and Informative Migration System). Prior to joining Helvetas, Mr. Basar worked for the British Council’s PROKAS Programme, led their Climate Governance and Climate Induced Migration portfolios. He has proven expertise in political economy, governance, social development, human rights and policy reform and extensive experience of engagement with the UN’s systems.Md. Abul Basar completed MSS with honours in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University. He is co-author of a number of publications that includes i) Labour Migration from Bangladesh: Achievements and Challenges; ii) Making it Work: advocating for rights of the persons with disabilities. He is winner of MRG’s small grants fund in 2012 that led to the drafting of anti-discriminatory legislation which has been placed in the parliament on 5 April 2022.
