As one of the core organiser of Shongshoptok, which is a non-binary-led Bangladeshi queer-mobilising organisation, I have dedicatedly contributed to creating safe spaces for the SOGIESC community by organising safe community gatherings for over 500 SOGIESC individuals. These events were designed to reduce the intersectional gap, promote inclusivity, and foster a sense of belonging among community members. These gatherings served as a platform to connect, share their experiences, and build a robust support network.I have contributed in engaging and empowering the SOGIESC youth with contemporary SOGIESC movements, ensuring they are well-informed and actively participating in advocacy and community-building efforts which boosted their confidence to contribute to the movement.Recognising the mental health challenges faced by many SOGIESC individuals, I contributed to organise peer-counseling sessions for over 300 individuals in crisis. These sessions provided a safe space for individuals to discuss their issues and receive emotional support and guidance addressing their mental well-being.For community education initiatives, I have oriented over 100 SOGIESC youth on diversity, intersectionality, and human rights through targeted educational sessions aimed to enhance their understanding and awareness, equipping them with the knowledge to advocate for themselves and others effectively.My advocacy efforts extended to contributing to queer-political articles, write-ups, and statements on behalf of Shongshoptok, amplifying the voices of the community and advocating for their rights and visibility that helped shape public discourse and bring attention to the issues faced by the SOGIESC community.My work at Shongshoptok has been driven by a dedication to inclusion, empowerment, and human rights, and I look forward to continuing to advocate for and support the community in every possible way.

During my tenure as Honorary Director, I played a key role in several initiatives that made a significant impact on the SOGIESC community. As a part of the team, I contributed to organizing safe community gatherings, with the aim of reducing intersectional gaps and fostering a supportive environment. My efforts contributed to connecting many new SOGIESC youth with the contemporary movement, ensuring their involvement and awareness.I also contributed to organising peer-counseling sessions for SOGIESC individuals in crisis, offering essential mental health support. As part of our educational initiatives, I helped orient SOGIESC individuals on diversity, intersectionality, and human rights, equipping them with the knowledge to advocate for themselves and their communities.Additionally, I supported the establishment of wellness points for the holistic well-being of SOGIESC individuals. My contributions extended to the intellectual and political spheres, where I played a role in crafting queer-political articles, write-ups, and statements, thereby influencing the broader discourse on SOGIESC issues.Recognising the importance of maintaining harmony within the community, I was involved in organising conflict management efforts to address and resolve interpersonal conflicts in queer interactions, events, and settings. Through these collaborative efforts, I contributed to creating a more inclusive, informed, and resilient SOGIESC community.

As the Director of Operations and Finance Management, my role was pivotal in orchestrating the organisation's strategic direction and financial stability. At the heart of my responsibilities lay the design and implementation of programs aimed at advancing SOGIESC rights and empowerment. This involved not only conceptualising initiatives but also developing detailed implementation strategies to ensure their effective execution. From organising events to coordinating outreach activities, every endeavor was meticulously planned to maximise impact and foster meaningful engagement within the community.In tandem with program management, I spearheaded strategic financial planning and budgeting efforts. This entailed analysing financial data, forecasting future needs, and allocating resources judiciously to support our mission. By developing comprehensive budgets and investment strategies, I sought to optimise the utilisation of funds while maintaining fiscal prudence.Moreover, I prioritised financial transparency and accountability, overseeing cash and account management with meticulous attention to detail. Regular financial reporting ensured that stakeholders were kept informed about the organisation's financial health and performance.

As the Inclusion Lead, I played a pivotal role in advancing the USAID Bijoyee Activity, a significant initiative supported by USAID with CARE Bangladesh as the primary partner. My responsibilities centered around designing and implementing strategies to ensure the inclusion of SOGIESC youth within the project.One of my primary tasks was to develop a comprehensive SOGIESC inclusion strategy by identifying the unique needs and challenges faced by SOGIESC youths and integrating solutions into the broader project framework with an aim to create a project environment that was welcoming and supportive for participants of all intersections.In addition, I contributed to designing the project implementation strategy with a deep understanding of the project goals, resources, and timeline. I worked closely with consortium partners to align our activities and ensure that our collective efforts were synergistic and impactful.My role also involved contributing to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) analysis and strategy development which identified specific barriers to SOGIESC inclusion and developing targeted interventions of overcoming. By incorporating GESI principles into our project, we aimed to create a more equitable environment that addressed the needs of all excluded groups, including women, dalits, persons with disability, indigenous, and SOGIESC individuals.Throughout my tenure, I ensured that the project was both inclusive and effectively managed. This involved meticulous planning, regular monitoring, and detailed reporting to document the progress and highlight the achievements. These reports were essential for maintaining transparency and accountability, ensuring that all stakeholders were informed and engaged.By prioritising SOGIESC inclusion and fostering collaboration among partners, I contributed to the successful implementation of the USAID Bijoyee Activity, making a meaningful impact on the lives of marginalised individuals in Bangladesh.

I served as the Project Coordinator, leading the "Inclusive Employment for the SOGIESC Community in Bangladesh" project supported by Outright Action International. In this role, I was entrusted with the comprehensive management of the project, aimed at improving employment opportunities for the SOGIESC community.My responsibilities included designing a robust project implementation strategy, ensuring that the approach was well-structured and goal-oriented. I developed essential project documents such as Terms of Reference (TOR), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and various agreements, which laid the foundation for effective partnerships and clearly defined roles and expectations.Organising project activities, events, and workshops was a significant part of my role. These activities were crucial for engaging stakeholders, providing training, and fostering a supportive environment for SOGIESC individuals seeking employment. Through meticulous planning and execution, I ensured that each event and workshop was impactful and aligned with the project objectives.In terms of reporting and documentation, I prepared detailed project activity reports, as well as monthly, and quarterly reports. These reports were vital for tracking project progress, assessing the effectiveness of project interventions, and maintaining transparency with the stakeholders. Additionally, I monitored the project progress closely, documenting every step to ensure we remained on track and achieved our goals.My tenure as Project Coordinator was marked by a commitment to enhancing the economic empowerment of the SOGIESC community, ensuring that the efforts were not only strategic but also inclusive and impactful.

In the organisational core position as the Officer for Capacity Development & Resource Mobilisation, I was primarily responsible for enhancing the knowledge and skills of both the SOGIESC community and various stakeholders through targeted training and capacity-building initiatives, managing a comprehensive knowledge based on SOGIESC diversity and intersectional issues, human rights, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), ensuring that the training programs were grounded in the latest research and best practices quipping participants with the knowledge and tools to advocate for themselves and others effectively.In addition to managing training sessions, I was deeply involved in the capacity building of the SOGIESC community and various stakeholders. I designing and myself conducting more than 30 training sessions and workshops focused on SOGIESC diversity and inclusion orienting a wide range of participants, including medical students, journalists, media houses, trainee judges, district-level judiciary (NLASO), lawyers, CSO representatives, government service providers, UN representatives, school teachers, students, mental health specialist, human rights defenders, and many more reaching over 700 individuals. Additionally, I was involved in resource mobilisation efforts, contributing to the successful approval of major funding projects, including the USAID Bijoyee Activity, Project Inclusive Employment for SOGIESC community funded by Outright Action International, and Project Proyojon funded by IPPF, SARO securing significant financial support to advance the work.Through my efforts in capacity development and resource mobilisation, I played a crucial role in building a foundation of knowledge and support that enabled SOGIESC individuals and stakeholders to advocate for their rights and contribute to a more inclusive society.

In this position, I was deeply involved in the Legal Empowerment of the Gender Diverse (LEGD) project in collaboration with Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST). My responsibilities included managing various aspects of the project, such as engaging over 50 individuals from the SOGIESC community in legal discussions, preparing operational documents, and overseeing the project activities. Additionally, I diligently handled reporting and documentation tasks, crafting meeting minutes, project activity reports, and other essential documents to ensure effective communication and accountability within the project.

As the Youth Engagement Officer, my primary responsibility was on youth management, where I successfully engaged over 100 SOGIESC youth in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education under the Right Here, Right Now – 2 (RHRN-2) program funded by Rutgers.With meticulous attention to detail, I prepared essential documents for project operations and ensured the seamless organisation of various project events.Additionally, I contributed to reporting and documentation, involving crafting detailed meeting reports and documents was a regular part of my routine, as was preparing comprehensive project activity reports. These reports served as valuable tools for tracking progress and informing stakeholders about the impact of our initiatives.Through these efforts, I contributed to creating safe spaces for dialogue and learning, empowering SOGIESC youth to navigate SRHR issues reinforcing my commitment to advocate for excluded communities.

During my role as a Project Officer, I was deeply involved in the initiative "Combatting Digital Vulnerabilities through Digital Well-being and Awareness," in partnership with CREA.My primary responsibilities revolved around project management. This included preparing essential documents for project operations, meticulously outlining budgets for various activities, and developing Request for Proposals (RFP) and Terms of Reference (TOR) for consultancy services.In addition to project management, I was tasked with reporting and documentation duties. Crafting detailed meeting reports and documents was essential to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned. Moreover, I diligently prepared comprehensive project activity reports, which served as valuable tools for tracking progress and evaluating the impact of our efforts.Throughout this brief yet impactful period, I remained dedicated to the cause of combating digital vulnerabilities and promoting digital well-being and awareness towards creating safer and more informed digital spaces for all.

As a Research Assistant, I was engaged in a crucial project titled "Transgender Inclusion in the Workplace: Challenges and Opportunities of Hijra Today", in collaboration with the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) at Stockholm School of Economics.My primary responsibility was conducting research, which involved organising interview sessions with Transgender and Hijra entrepreneurs across the country. Over the course of the project, I conducted 45 in-depth, mixed-method interviews, each lasting 2-3 hours. Additionally, I meticulously managed interview raw data using digital mediums and sorted the data for documentation purposes. Furthermore, I provided support for the conduction of Focal Group Discussions, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by Transgender and Hijra individuals in the workplace.In terms of reporting and documentation, I played a vital role in ensuring ethical standards were upheld throughout the research process. This included developing consent forms in the local language, ensuring participants' rights and privacy were respected. Additionally, I prepared interview transcriptions and reports, capturing the essence of each interview session and providing valuable insights for further analysis.As a Research Assistant, I was deeply committed to shedding light on the experiences of Transgender and Hijra people in the workplace, advocating for their inclusion and empowerment.
