I am Md. Atikuzzamman. I am from Bangladesh and graduated from Patuakhali Science and Technology University with a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Food Analysis and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with Honors from the same university. I gained experience on Precision Agriculture by working as an Agricultural Development Officer in an project called STARS (Spurring a Transformation for Agriculture Through Remote Sensing) of CIMMYT( International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre) where I supports field cropping system agronomist with preparation of experimental fields, planting, harvesting and general management of experiments; Demonstrated experience with farmer participatory research and management of on-farm field trials with a particular emphasis on crop management in rice, wheat or maize-based cropping systems in Bangladesh; Familiar with field operations for crop management etc. I have expertise on crop phenology, ground cover analysis, collect and process field data by RTK GPS, process and analysis soil moisture and salinity by using EM-38 and soil salinity meter. Now I am implementing fieldwork under the supervision of the concerned hub manager of CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre) and overall guidance from the CSISA (Cereal System Initiative for South Asia Mechanization and Irrigation) and CSISA-III project leaders with support from Agronomy and Mechanization Scientists; assist in the field demonstrations of new agricultural and irrigation machinery. Where I have to maintain proper data records, enter data into electronic data bases, and maintain proper data archiving and back-up systems; Carry out needs assessments for selected CSISA districts through field visits, focus groups, and surveys as required; As needed coordinate participatory trials on agricultural machinery, crop and resource conserving crop management in cereal-based systems as needed; Collect and analyze monitoring data as per the need of project; Help form partnerships with a wide-range clientele (including local service providers, farmers, NGOs, private and public sector organizations, and scientists) to evaluate and deliver agricultural machinery technologies that are appropriate to the diverse cropping systems and socioeconomic environments of Southern Bangladesh.
