Mr. Omar Farque is an aspiring researcher and academic with an intense focus on Public International Law, particularly on International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, Environmental Law, and Technology Law. He is currently a Law Lecturer at Eastern University, where he also serves as the LLB (Hons) Program Coordinator and Faculty Advisor to the Easter University Moot Court Society. Additionally, he has been working as a Senior Research Associate of the Human Rights Research Wing at I. H. Khan & Associates since January 2021. In his capacity as a legal researcher, he has experience contributing to many initiatives/projects funded or conducted by several UN agencies as well as other national and international organizations, including UNHHCR, UNODC, UNDP, DRC, ActionAid, Justice and Care, etc.Mr. Farque completed his Bachelor's [LLB (Hons.)] and LLM degrees from Eastern University, Bangladesh, with the Highest Academic Distinction (Summa Cum Laude) and First position in his cohort. In recognition of his excellent academic accolades, he was awarded the most prestigious ‘Chairman’s Gold Medal’ in the 7th Convocation of the Eastern University in 2023.
