Marlene Dandler is an entrepreneur, advocate, mother, and the founder and CEO of Seashore Academy. Dandler’s work is centered around creating a freedom-minded community for those who look for meaningful education options for their children. Founded in 2012, Seashore Academy currently has 4 locations in Southern California and provides high-end, top-quality academic options for those who want the flexibility of homeschooling with the quality of private education. Dandler has received education from Dartmouth College, Freie Universität in Berlin, and Beijing Normal University in Beijing. While at Dartmouth, Marlene worked as a German language instructor for the creator of the Rassias Method, a language immersion technique used by the Peace Corps. This revolutionary method of rapid, effective language acquisition became the foundation of Seashore Academy’s language immersion philosophy, which currently provides Mandarin and Spanish immersion education for students. Dandler has been advocating for bilingual education options since 2011. Dandler’s philosophy for education extends into health and wellness. All Seashore campuses incorporate a device-free, screen-free education that allows students to thrive in a creative and intellectually-curious environment that focuses on collaborative learning and an academically intensive curriculum. The academy provides education on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, language immersion, and additional customized education applications. Dandler is a member of the Entrepreneurship Organization of OC, and Vistage, and volunteers with organizations such as ICAN, and KLove. She previously served as the co-president of the Dartmouth Club of OC. Dandler is first and foremost a mother who prioritizes time with her children above all else. She is passionate about creating fun, engaging learning environments for children. She is also dedicated to empowering parents to be in control of their child’s education.
