Marcelo c DaSilva, MD is board certified Thoracic Surgeon. He completed his surgery training at PSU, Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. Dr. DaSilva completed his Thoracic Surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He joined the staff of the Division of Thoracic Surgery of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA where he served as a Staff Surgeon from 2008-2019. He has received many awards including Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSFRE) Scholarship. The Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, The Mark Young International Medical Studies Scholarship, World Health Care Congress, Barcelona, Spain, The Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholar of Surgery at the Milton S. He has authored numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters in all areas of thoracic surgery. Dr. DaSilva’s clinical and professional interest are in developing Integrated Thoracic-Foregut-Pulmonary Services, Quality Metrics in thoracic surgery (STS_GT database), innovation in thoracic surgery, team building, treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma with intra-operative heated chemotherapy (IOHC). Dr. DaSilva is married with two children.
