Michael has been working in the entertainment industry for nearly 30 years. Currently Executive Producer at Engine Room, a global creative arts studio specializing in visual effects, live action and design for television, commercials, feature films and new media. Michael has produced and supervised 100’s of projects for ongoing clients such as Warner Bros, Netflix, NBC/Universal, Disney/ABC, FX and many more. Present since the company’s conception in 2001, Michael has been a cornerstone to the success of Engine Room and he regularly oversees all visual effects, design and live-action projects the company undertakes each year. He is responsible for overseeing all company activities including creative direction, budgeting, internal studio operations, client management and final project delivery. Michael also has a diverse background in television series post-production and this skillset has served him well over his 18+ years with Engine Room.Michael also currently serves as COO/Executive Producer for the recently launched Quick FX online VFX production portal. He has been an integral part of the 5 year development and launch of this forward thinking virtual visual effects production studio that allows clients to produce and oversee visual effect projects from start to finish through an easy to use, convenient web app accessible from anywhere at www.quickfx.com. He began his career in 1991 as a set PA on the long-running series “Knots Landing,” spending each day on set from crew call to wrap. This experience enabled him to build a great foundation for a career in television and film. Two years later he began to explore other aspects of the filmmaking process, pursuing a position in post-production on the Warner Bros. show “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”. At the time, visual effects were fairly new to the world of series television. As this new field rapidly expanded, Michael was in an excellent position to grow with it, keeping up with the latest technologies and techniques. Over the series’ 5-year run, he was promoted to Associate Producer managing the show’s post-production department. He went on to AP a number of other network shows expanding his post-production background. These studio post-production experiences have proven to be invaluable in his current position and to the many clients of Engine Room.
