Developed Unix administration utilities for Sun (Berkley based Unix) and for some other Unix system I can no longer remember the name of.Helped start a system of utilities called the Group Admin shell, which Jon Abbey took over and went on to make the Ganymede project. Jon Abbey, BTW, is one heck of a programmer. I wish I could get him in my group.

Company developed a system that measured bridge deformation to calculate the weights of trucks driving over the bridge.The best project I had there was developing a completely new battery powered computer based bridge data acquisition system. My friend Gene Dudley built the hardware, I installed a pSOS OS kernel and developed all of the driver software. We had it booted in a week and running the application in another week, but working out the bugs did take quite a while longer. It was fun though, I had to know how every smart chip on that system worked as I had to write the interface software.Sadly, BWS is no more.
