As a material science intern at TURBOCAM, I performed wear tests on various samples of different microstructures, treatments, and coatings. I worked with the R&D team to synthesize data and collect real-time results. I discovered new methods of enhancing current product lifetime and friction reduction. I also developed repeatable methodology for new testing methods that produce highly accurate results. I translated raw wear data into easily understood plots and conclusions.I am currently a senior-year student at Iowa State University, majoring in materials science and engineering, specializing in polymers and minoring in textile design. I have a strong interest in sportswear products and how material science can improve their performance, durability, and sustainability. I spent a semester abroad at the University of Limerick, where I learned more about materials science and textile design. I have gained skills in sportswear sales, affinity publisher, and collaborative problem solving. My goal is to further my technical knowledge of wear testing in the sportswear field and contribute to the innovation and development of new and better products.
