Recognized as a courageous thought leader, I bring 20+ years experience advancing positive social impact across nonprofits, academia, and in the public sphere. I am renowned for my calm and analytical approach, particularly when navigating organizational growth, uncertainty, and the complexity of the social sector. I’m motivated by opportunities to set and operationalize an ambitious vision for an organization, while developing the skills of staff and stakeholders to see it through. With a strong ability to coach and challenge, I’m able to shift the energy, narrative, and outcomes in a room to inspire progress and make things happen, while also bringing a healthy dose of humor and self-awareness. I ask a lot of my team while respecting their strengths, energy, and time and I prioritize a workplace culture of wellness where work truly works for people. As a successful social impact entrepreneur, I am frequently sought out as a trusted sounding board and advisor. Since 2010, I have also proudly supported my partner as a military spouse.I am the author of How to Make the Matriarchy: The Power and Promise of Prioritizing Women, which explores systems, structures, and stories worldwide that demonstrate when women’s empowerment is prioritized, humanity benefits. My TEDx Talk, Why Empowering Women is Failing Women, explores similar themes. I care deeply about the economic empowerment of women and enabling women to rise into leadership and thrive once they are there. I believe in the power of inclusion and work with leaders who strive to create a more equitable world by advancing social change.I'm also somewhat famous for my baked goods. 🎂
