Set up Sustainable Global Resources Ltd in 2015 to provide strategy development, implementation, research, mentoring and advisory services, based on experience from developing and leading public sector & NGO sustainability programme teams. SGR’s key themes are Circular Economy, Sustainable Procurement, Sustainable Construction, Resource Efficiency and Resource Management. It offers strategic support, public speaking, technical report & bid writing, project and programme management, training & mentoring and interim resources.Examples include circular procurement for the Dutch Rijkswaterstaat; public sector support for WRAP Cymru/Welsh Government; EU Interreg ProCirc and EU H2020 CityLoops projects; plastics procurement support to EU One Planet Network Sustainable Public Procurement and Sustainable Tourism programmes; and, procurement guidance on chemicals of concern in electronics for the UN GEF SAICM project. Previously circular procurement capacity building in EU (TAIEX), SWIM H2020 and Interreg Baltic Sea Regions; CP and food waste prevention workshops & evaluating impacts from EU REBus and Dutch Green Deal pilot projects. Plastics support for the UK Plastics Pact and WRAP and Welsh public bodies. Previously worked with host cities on sustainable Olympic Games; advised on the GEO Sustainable Golf Standard Expert Working Group; and, in 2018 supported the GLA in transitioning their ISO20121 events into procurement practice.SGR has a strong track record of delivering significant and tangible financial, social and environmental benefits including delivering resource efficiency within businesses and supply chains and more circular growth in UK, European & international programmes across sustainable events, sustainable procurement, construction, packaging & plastics, furniture, textiles & electricals. Outcomes have benefited businesses & governments by reducing operating costs and reducing impacts on the environment by decoupling consumption from growth.
