Global Currents is an investment affiliate of Legg Mason, Inc. primarily an investment boutique focused on institutional clients, subadvisory relationships, and fulfilling the investment needs of high net worth individuals. The global equity investment team focuses on ‘classic’ value investing and has broad-based experience in global equities which has been acquired managing global equity strategies for over fifteen years.I led Legg Mason's strategic effort to become a global equity leader by transitioning the Brandywine International and Global Equity team into Global Currents Investment Management. Specifically, I developed and executed the strategic plan for the successful launch of Global Currents Investment Management. (AUM 12/09 $5.5 billion).My team led all aspects of establishing business including planning, budgeting, and staffing. Specifically, I managed growth of assets from $120 billion to $220 billion across consulting, alternatives, mutual funds, and Separately Managed Accounts.Under my leadership, revenue grew from $600 million to $1.2 billion, and margins increased by 20%.
