While working at the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory of ICS-FORTH, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects. Most notably, I served as the lead backend developer for the e-services platform for the Greek Department of Motor-Vehicles (part of the digital transformation project of the Greek Government). In this role, I was responsible for identifying requirements, making architectural decisions, training colleagues, and supporting the front-end team. Furthermore, I was also a senior developer in charge of the backend development for the Long-Distance Bus Service's Information System in East Crete. This encompassed designing and building the Vehicle/Routes and Itinerary management system, as well as the Booking system.Other projects include the Heraklion Smart City Portal, the portal of the Horizon2020 project COMnPLAY science, and MeThinks: a sophisticated comment system in the social web.Key achievements: During my tenure at ICS-Forth I led the development of two Laravel Framework packages that have been widely adopted within the HCI laboratory. The first package provides a simple and elegant way to filter, sort, and include relationships in database queries by translating the query parameters of incoming requests. It allows developers to construct complex database queries using a builder-like syntax, which makes it easier to create maintainable and flexible APIs. The second package offers configurable and reusable actions for implementing basic CRUD functionality on a resource.

As a Software engineer, I implemented an ISO tracking web application for the Univerity's Microelectronics Research Group. I was responsible for liaising with the laboratory's stakeholders, analyzing requirements, UI/UX design, and implementing the application. Technologies used: PHP, Yii2, HTML, Javascript, and CSS, and Git.Also, I participated in the implementation of the University's Quality Assurance Unit's portal and surveys management system. Responsible for designing and implementing the applications, creating adapters for third-party web services, and providing technical assistance to faculty users. Technologies used: Drupal, HTML, Javascript, CSS, and Mercurial.
