14Nm Feol Defect Elimination ManagerSamsung Austin Semiconductor Sep 2011 - Aug 2017Austin, TexasAs a Defect Elimination engineer, I focus on defect trace and root source analysis. With a mixed bag of statistical tools and trend analysis techniques, I drive yield up activities on interdepartmental and cross functional module teams. I am actively involved in technology transfer teams and new technology start up. In addition to coordinating new device and tech process start up, I focus on random and systematic defect reduction of key yield killers that were not identified during the early development stage. - Team leader of the 14nm FEOL defect group in the Defect Elimination department with 7 engineers as direct reports- Personally selected by yield management to individually lead and travel with the company’s 28nm and 14nm technology transfer teams to Samsung HQ (South Korea).- Lead an interdepartmental team of 10 engineers focused on front end yield improvement with direct report to Senior VPs and executives. Recent progress resulted in 2% yield improvement in the span of 3 months.- Expertise in defect identification, isolation, and improvement through the use of data mining, statistical analysis, and correlation analysis. Efforts resulted in cost reduction via process step minimization.- Owner of inline 14nm yield metrics with direct report to company President and executives using visual analytics software- Leader of the foundry team responsible for new device setup and ramp up of all 14nm devices (15) with focus on gap defect detection, inline sampling management for new small volume devices, and factory to factory process auditing .- Develop novel analysis techniques using data query software to join inline defect data to tool parameters in order to discover new yield correlations. Weekly reports are generated with this data using Tibco Spotfire and shared at the executive level.

Semiconductor Process EngineerEastman Kodak Feb 2011 - Aug 2011As part of the Image Sensor Solutions division at Kodak, we manufactured charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensors for various applications in the imaging industry. Our CCD sensors were found in DSLRs, compact cameras and video recording devices, satellites, and other various imaging devices.I was a process engineer on the films team focusing heavily on metals and ion implantation, along with the associated metrology tools.- Process owner of ion implantation (Varian E500 and Applied Materials xR200s), physical vapor deposition (two Applied Materials Endura HP 5000), and the associated metrology tools (Thermawave TP400, Prometrix Rs35 and Rs55, Prometrix UV-1280SE, Tencor Surfscan 6220/6420, Tencor P22, Tencor Flexus F2320)- Drove efforts to tool match process parameters with statistical data support from JMP- Lead efforts to increase PVD sputter target life resulting in $6,000 monthly savings- Increased lot move efficiency and tool up time of implanter tools by optimizing process specifications -

Functional Nanosystems InternImec 2009 - 2010IMEC is Europe's largest independent research facility in nanoelectronics and nanotechnology. During this summer period, I was a research intern at the Interuniversity Microelectronics Center in Leuven, Belgium. My project involved the study and fabrication of three-dimensional, patterned, metallic, and self-assembled nanostructures with 3-axis plasmonic sensitivity. -
Corporate Strategic Research InternExxonmobil Jun 2008 - Aug 2008For three months, I worked as an intern at the Clinton, NJ location in the Corporate Strategic Research division. I utilized my previous expertise in nanoparticle synthesis in order to study the surface adhesion properties of magnetic nanoparticles. My project involved the evaluation of nanoparticles as a viable means of crude oil purification. -
Undergraduate ResearcherRice University May 2007 - Aug 2007My project involved magnetic iron oxide nanoparticle synthesis, characterization, and purification for application in water purification. I also worked on functionalizing these nanoparticles with silica and silver in order to add antimicrobial properties to the particles.
