ETL and Data Quality ControlsDesigned and implemented an application for gathering and storing the results of data quality and ETL movement controls. This system runs controls on a scheduled basis and stores the results of these controls in an Oracle reporting mart. This application stages results from several different systems on an ad-hoc basis through the use of web services. Once a day a batch cycle will process any results staged that day and populate the reporting mart.

Data WarehouseImplemented system using Datastage, Unix scripting, and several Oracle tables that allowed load jobs in the target to selectively run depending on whether the source had any changes. Implemented dimensional mart which contained 5 dimensional tables, 4 daily facts, 4 monthly partitioned facts, and 1 bridge table. This mart was sourced from a central warehouse hub, both the hub and mart were implemented in Oracle. The ETL code was implemented in Datastage. This mart also has a metrics collections mechanism which keeps track of daily updates, inserts, and deletes into each table. Worked on hub-spoke model building jobs that performed all stages of ETL. These jobs extract from a DB2 transactional database, inserted the data into an central hub, and propagated down through various marts. This warehouse contained hundreds of hub tables and many mart tables.UI developmentWorked on several Java UI applications with large teams (anywhere from 7-60 developers) using custom in-house frameworks. These frameworks used JSF (JavaServer Faces) and EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans). These applications also made extensive use of JavaScript and AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML). Participated in Scrum Agile software development methodology during multiple projects. Implemented prototype of in-house (JSF-based) UI framework and then subsequently used this framework to build a multi-million dollar client facing application that receives thousands of hits a day. This application also used AJAX to produce an SPI(Single Page Interface) feel to the user experience of the application. Production SupportSupported many java-based applications and a Unix Korn Shell (ksh)-based application which captured meta-data information about attributes in a data warehouse.Provided on-call (24-hour) support for various applications.Participated in Kanban Agile software development methodology during tenure on Production Support team.
