While in this role I was the main force behind developing and rolling out an Automated Test Platform based on Serenity BDD and Cucumber. Android, web and API testing could all be performed through the platform so developers working on a feature that spanned all the code bases could write their tests in the same style.The platform was containerized and parallelized using Docker and Kubernetes on a Virtual Private Cloud, maintained by us in house. The containerization enabled a consistent test environment and parellelization enabled far higher test throughput than previously achieved.In addition to developing the new platform my responsibilities included maintenance of the legacy platform and upskilling developers on development of automated tests.

• Working in a Scrum/Agile environment to provide automated test coverage of software requirements.• Responsible for timely delivery of test artifacts.• Created a custom embedded GUI test framework for the REM400 touchscreen remote, compatible with the existing reporting system.• Continuous maintenance of the embedded automation test framework in Python and the CI system and servers.

• Sole responsibility for designing and implementing tests for all products.• Using National Instruments tools LabVIEW and Teststand.• Liaising with internal project heads and the team at the production partner’s facility.• Maintaining our test base, troubleshooting production critical issues.• Interfacing with all required protocols and signal standards: SOAP, IP, ASI, SDI, PAL, SECAM, NTSC, DVB-C, -T, -S• Automating Appear TV’s products and test instruments to obtain test data.

• Directly receiving customer inquiries and quoting prices in a competitive market environment.• Design of new, custom 50Hz and HF transformer products.• Developing processes with manufacturing staff at the Auckland facility.• Communicating with staff at the China production facility, reviewing product samples and fine tuning production processes.

I worked at AECOM for a month at the beginning of 2009 and gained valuable experience in Power Systems consulting.

I undertook an internship at North Shore City Wastewater Treatment Plant as the first section of my Practical Work Experience for my degree.
