Matt began his formal career taking on a trailblazing role in the finance industry. By 1999 he had secured Canadian and US securities licensing and opened British Columbia’s first retail daytrading company, managing explosive revenue growth through the Canadian boom years in that niche. Pinnacle evolved and grew into a proprietary trading model through the next decade, with hundreds of traders over that time. As a result of that experience, Matt was instrumental in the design, implementation and support of proprietary software and trading systems now used by 4000 traders in 94 countries worldwide, trading 200 million shares (US$1.6 billion) per day. He was also a founding member of PhiCube Incorporated, which launched a revolutionary charting system for advanced technical analysis, used by retail and institutional traders alike.Following the successful sale of Pinnacle at the height of the market in 2008, Matt refocused his entrepreneurial energy on helping others launch and sustain their own businesses through his consulting firm, Metabolinc. He consulted in business systemization, performance psychology, operational logistics, team leadership and growing businesses, and has spoken publicly on these topics to groups from 50 to 1200 people. He provided interim and part-time executive roles for startups and turnaround organizations needing a fresh perspective and innovative approach. It was in this role that Matt met his next career: Project Manager at a commercial general construction firm. The challenge was completely new but Matt was able to leverage skills from his numerous startups to inject new life into the company. He moved on to an even bigger challenge with one of the largest property development companies in Canada, managing such construction projects as The Alex Community Health Centre and the Calgary South Alberta Supports Centre. Project Management has become a cornerstone of Matt's career, and he now oversees construction, facilities, OHS and security projects for the largest Primary Care Network in Alberta, including the Mosaic Refugee Health Clinic and the upcoming 20,000 square foot Mosaic consolidated community health care clinic.Matt has also served on the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society Board of Directors (past as President and Vice President), and has been an active fundraiser, spokesman and volunteer for the not-for-profit organization since 2000.
