About Maryjo Douglas Zunk

As a teacher (since age 6), I developed some key communication, and management skills, along with a desire to lead and connect others. I discovered my creativity and service orientation through my parent's example of talent sharing and community building. If we had cell phone cameras and YouTube during my adolescence and college, and early career, I know just the events and images that would have showcased my quest to be the best, help others and have fun doing it!Throughout my academic and professional preparation I demonstrated skill in instructing, coaching and mentoring various individuals and groups to achieve academic, career, professional and personal goals. I learned in formal and informal settings, and through teacher, peer and family relationships. And, I spent a great deal of time doing, doing, doing ... reflecting, ...and doing more. I gained experience in program development and implementation in educational, work-learning, and community-based settings (some reflected in my profile here). From one project or event to another, great and small, I enjoyed the planning and coordination, or 'behind the scenes' work, as well as making the presentation, creating the awareness and generating recognition for the people, organizations and causes I served.
