I never gave much thought as to where my career would go after a life in the army, but studying for a degree in digital media seemed a logical move to me, after all, I’d been the IT clerk in Germany, helped with the initially setting up of various social media accounts and blogs for my unit and always seemed to be the one everyone asked to design the posters for any upcoming events!Anyway, one day you’re designing and developing an an app to help people with dementia, the next you find yourself throwing away the glamorous lifestyle of a Web Designer/Developer to help these people on a more personal level.I’ve taken pride and care in every job I’ve done, but few jobs have given me the immediate satisfaction as caring. Spending 5 minutes with someone can change their day, giving them the opportunities to live life, laugh and feel free.
