My three month project was to investigate whether the BBC could use their ever-growing archive ofnews articles to automatically answer user questions. This involved both a research and implementationcomponent, investigating the feasibility of different approaches, and then prototyping both standalonequestion answering systems and chatbots. I presented the results of my work to multiple departments andelements of it are now in use.
