Lots of people never find their calling in life. They find a means to an end, a life that they are comfortable living and that gives them just enough to feel accomplished. To this day, I feel that I am doing just that.Since graduating from Grand Valley in 2015, I'ce felt that I haven't found my calling. Though, that doesn't mean I haven't tried.I graduated witha BS in Broadcast &v Journalism and worked in radio as an assistant producer for a morning show in downtown Grand Rapids before transitioning to hospitality and working my up to an integration position. From there I moved to automotive where I currently reside professionally. In each of these endeavors, I have been largely successful; having worked with local facorites in the entertainment industry, opening a Marriott franchise, and being an award winning advisor in automotive. However, I find myself feeling a greater purpose and a want to do something more significant and rewarding to myself and my peers. I love learning about new things outside my realm and tinkering with them, such as learning abou telectricity, capacitors, and how it all works When I'm not working, I'm off learning abou trenewable energy and ways to help society as a whole. Working in automotive, I feel these technologies are great imporovements to the modern vehicle, but need improvements to be sustainable in this market. Perhaps with my accomplishments and work history I'll work for an EV company that builds and deelops new vehicle technology. Maybe I'll go into a sales role in a company that sells software to local businesses. Regardless the position I find or that may find me, I want to make sure it is a position with a company that I can grow with, build relationships with, an dmost importantly, a positioin where I feel I can make a difference, whre I can say I've found my calling.I hope that position is with you.
