Worked on video encoding for the EVE team at AWS Elemental. Specifically, I improved the hierarchical pyramid search in the front end of the encoder. With the improvements, PSNR for motion compensated frames increased by roughly 10% on average across our sample set of video clips. To do this, I worked with C code as well as AVX2 vector code.

I was an assistant project engineer, meaning I primarily dealt with the paperwork side of construction work. This included updating submittal logs that contained over 100 submittals, creating a master list of operations and maintenance manuals for the $18.6 million project, updating organization systems, and ordering labels for various parts. My main duty was to help get the work done that was necessary for construction workers to be able to carry out their work.

Worked on counter duty to take orders from customers. This involved collaborating with fellow team members to correctly serve hundreds of orders per day. I also had to manage the register so that change was accurately given and hundreds of dollars remained accounted for to the penny. Lastly, I was in charge of general maintenance of the restaurant and it's restrooms, often staying late to achieve a through clean. All of this was done in a fast-paced environment where customers get angry if something is done incorrectly.
