Managing and performing infrastructure turndown and data preservation activities

Overall responsibility for all IT systems in the company (including network infrastructure, server infrastructure, office environment, AWS environment, other cloud-based infrastructure, card key systems, AV systems, and telephone systems). Works closely with all functional areas to plan and deliver additional IT capabilities. Manages all IT Managed Service Providers to deliver on operational needs of the company. Actively works to maintain the security and performance of the company’s network infrastructure. Facilitated a seamless transition to “Work From Home” during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Designed and managed the infrastructure buildout for our move into new office/lab environment in February 2019.Overall responsibility for all laboratory-based data capture systems in the company. Implemented and maintains the Sapio Exemplar Pro ELN/LIMS for the Single Cell Genomics platform. Implemented and maintains the Benchling ELN for Drug Discovery and Protein Sciences teams. Manages the internal Tableau infrastructure. Works closely with Data Sciences and Data Architecture teams to ensure end-to-end data capture, transformation, analysis, and decision-support.Performs the GDPR Data Protection Officer (DPO) role for the company. Responsible for IT, data privacy, and data security policies and procedures. Implemented company-wide training for data privacy, data security, and cybersecurity awareness.

As a senior member of the Core Data and Analytics team, I am responsible for leading the teams who are working to deliver two of the foundational services in the Core Data Platform (Data Store and Data Access Authorization). The Data Store enables NIBR researchers to consume NIBR's data without spending excessive time finding and formatting those data, so that the researcher can do more science more quickly. The Data Store is built upon Databricks, and fully utilizes the cloud-based functionality found in AWS. The Data Access Authorization service implements an Attribute-Based Access Control for all data in the Data Store. Implementation is a combination of 3rd party and internally-written services.As a senior member of the CDA team, I have a team of direct reports who develop and support the Core Data platform, and set of analytical tools used by thousands of NIBR scientists globally. These tools include Spotfire, Pipeline Pilot, and additional internally-developed decision support tools.

Leads a group of 3 internal team members and 3 managed-service resources responsible for the support, maintenance, and strategic roadmap of the data analytics tools in NIBR. Works closely with IS, infrastructure, and engineering groups in NIBR Informatics to make and keep these tools available and useful for NIBR scientists. Tools include Spotfire, KNIME, Matlab, and several internally-written applications, used by thousands of internal scientists.

Responsible for the scientific applications in support of data analysis, reporting, and project team decision support in the Chemistry IT portfolio.

Responsible for the small molecule informatics platform, spanning early discovery through non-clinical development. Develop strategy for implementing an informatics platform in support of business goals and directions. Justify, Initiate, Design, and Implement global Informatics projects aligned with the platform strategy. Maintain close relationships with key business leaders.

Responsible for building a global Cheminformatics capability. Responsible for demand management for all local informatics activities and coordinating these activities with other local demand coordinators. Designed, implemented, deployed, and used software applications in drug discovery. As part of drug discovery project teams implemented solutions to day to day problems, especially as it pertains to chemical library design, access to data, and decision-making.

Responsible for all chemical and biological data in ARIAD Drug Discovery. Managed the computing infrastructure buildout for the Hoechst-ARIAD Genome Center.

Built tools for the Computer-Aided Drug Design group. Implemented and managed the companies first connection to the Internet. Participated in a small group trying to spin-off a company around a parallel synthesis technology called Diversomers.

Responsible for the support and maintenance of various systems in Discovery and Preclinical.
