I could give you the usual stuff about "being a committed dynamic leader" but would you believe me if I just trotted out the same standard words as everyone else? I've been Chief Executive at Macc for 18 years now and I'm still enjoying the challenge and striving to do more: be more ingenious, work with more partners, drive the development of the social sector across the city as it grows. What really energises me is ideas: finding ways to help improve the place we live in. Yes, there's some old-fashioned idealism in this but it's about solutions and real practical change. I'm good at being creative, thinking differently and taking the long view but also enough of a pragmatist to recognise that sometimes it's important not to be distracted by the shiny and new but focus on getting the important but maybe less exciting stuff sorted. My career plan is simply to be useful by doing what I'm good at.Specialties: Third Sector, Social Policy, Community Engagement, Voluntary Sector Development, Volunteering, Building Cross-Sector Partnerships, Networking, Capacity Building, Project Design, Commissioning, User Involvement, Advocacy, Leadership, Devolution, Public Speaking,
