Teaching ESL to students from other continents & so many different countries, with so many different languages and cultures is so educational for me! I have learned how to tailor my teaching toward the needs of those who have different alphabets, different ways & rules for writing, as well as cultures so dramatically different from mine. I treasure what I learn as well as the pleasure of seeing my students gain in their understanding of how to use English. My life's philosophy is to live life to the fullest every day. Pay attention to the micro world as well as the macro world. Love art & nature, treasure family & friends. Teaching ESL certainly makes me feel that I am living life to the fullest every day.

Currently and for the past 6 months, I have been teaching the most advanced levels at BEI. It is such a pleasure to teach Advanced English grammar to these smart students from Africa (Angola, Congo, Senegal, Mali and more), South America (usually Brazil and Venezuela), various regions in China, Viet Nam, and Saudia Arabia. I enjoy helping these students prepare for University or their career, and also enjoy learning from them about their countries and cultures. At these high levels, the students usually can converse very easily and have an excellent vocabulary. One of my goals is to help them be able to write with the same ease and fluency as they speak. Another goal is to continue improving their ability to pronounce words in American English, and further, to understand when an American is asking them a complicated question. English is so very complex. They deserve congratulations for achieving these high levels of competency.

My classes are filled with a mixture of people from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey, plus China, Korea and Japan. I always have students from Mexico and many countries in Africa and South America. I also teach private lessons for Premiere Language, a wonderful company that primarily works with companies from Mexico.I teach all levels--from pre-Beginning to Advanced.
