I hold a Bachelor of Philosophy (B Phil) Honours in Marketing Management. I am a keen and creative Marketing Professional with 10+ years’ experience in various diverse industries. I am passionate about data-driven marketing, the power of storytelling and bringing brands to life through design, messaging, and media.Living in South Africa & Australia has taught me to be adaptable, versatile and eager to enter a culturally diverse workplace. Through my diverse background, I have become the creator I am today, it taught me the details of artistry and passion and I approach marketing with the same intent. Marketing is a medium that knows no boundaries in which I find each day producing exciting challenges.My love for building brands and campaigns started early in my career at RS Components where I worked in conjunction with the global team in developing the RS brand value proposition and brand positioning.I have worked across the groups local and global brands. I was fortunate in that I could enhance the brand value through a consumer-centric approach (my passion). My objectives have always been to create a unique brand that included all the ingredients that consumers felt and experienced (lifestyle) when interacting with the business. Overall, it would create a positive impact on brand equity through the use of various promotional tactics and campaigns.Over my career, I have always implemented marketing tactics with a customer-centric approach. I found through the utilisation of digital marketing that I have had the ability to see and analyse the consumers journey. This really has revolutionised how I, as a marketer, now use data to make better, more informed creative decisions.On the topic of data, we all know how powerful it is, but more importantly it is how I as a marketer have utilised this data to help inspire smarter marketing and business decisions. With the evolution of technology and my passion for data driven decisions, I am constantly on the hunt and evolving my skills due to the nature of this space to ensure we not only have data available but are able to have this data in real-time with the utilisation of intuitive systems through visual dashboards that replace manual efforts.What distinguishes me from others in my field is that I believe that while marketing is an art, there is also a lot of math and science that can (and should) be utilised. I strongly believe creativity, guided by analytical data, is critical to guaranteeing successful marketing.
