Clinical Support Nurse is the SSM Health title for a charge nurse. As a charge nurse on nights, I handle conflict on the floor, both with patients and among staff, I assign new patients to the floor, I organize staffing for the oncoming day shift and I assist nurses and clinical partners on the floor as they need it.

I work as a staff nurse on a medical-surgical unit. The floor specializes in weight loss and other abdominal surgeries. As a nurse, I apply clinical skills and nursing judgement to assist patients as they begin their recovery.

As a care partner, I am in charge of documenting patients' food and drink, making sure they bathe (if they wish), changing linens, and taking the vital signs of patient.

I was paired with a nurse performing tasks as a nurse would. I was limited in the skills I could perform but observed everything my nurse did.

I worked as a Summer Camp Counselor at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran's Summer Day Camp. We lead campers in devotions and art, went on field trips twice a week, went to the pool two other days a week. We had activities at the site of the day camp.

My responsibilities included filling out deposit and bill statements for our off-site accountant. I occasionally ordered supplies that the church was running low on.
