Assistant Director Of Recruiting And EventsMississippi State University Sep 2012 - Oct 2015Starkville, Mississippi, United StatesI absolutely fell in love working at my alma mater recruiting students for one of the nation's leading business schools. Here, I developed the first-ever comprehensive recruitment program for undergraduate students at Mississippi State University's College of Business. I devised and implemented a communications strategy that led to a 20% enrollment increase for first-time freshman; improved the college’s marketing messages and materials in support of an 8% new-student enrollment; and led a task force that achieved a 35% increase in business applications. Overall, we set record number of new-student enrollment in 2015 for fall enrollment. It was during this time that I learned the true meaning of mentorship. The student ambassadors significantly played a role in recruiting students to the college and representing the business school at special events with donors, alumni, and parents. I enjoyed helping students learn about professionalism, accountability, and how to comfortably network in any setting. -
Operations CoordinatorThe Cpi Group, Llc Apr 2010 - Sep 2012Columbus, MsWhile I've spent much of my career working in the public sector, working for a small private business in the human resources, staffing, and recruiting industry is one I'll always remember. At The CPI Group, a nationally recognized staffing and HR consulting firm, I learned a tremendous amount of how to manage the daily operations of a company and gained invaluable knowledge about the human resources industry. While I began my career here as a marketing and communications professional, I was quickly promoted to the operations coordinator to manage essential business functions of the group.I successfully revamped the company’s internal operations and business processes to enhance efficiency and competitiveness by improving technology standards, streamlining recruiting strategies, and strengthening staff productivity and morale. I led the recruiting staff in successful negotiations and profitable executive level job placements, secured and maintained new business with high profile clients across the region. I improved the quality of our candidates through an integrated marketing and communications campaign and secured a weekly television segment on prime-time news to feature open positions within the city. -
Communications CoordinatorUnited Way Of Lowndes County Apr 2005 - Apr 2010Columbus, Mississippi, United StatesThis is where it all began in my career; my first professional position in public relations and communications after graduating from college. I coordinated every aspect of communications for the United Way of Lowndes County like media relations, advertising and design, web design and content management, special event planning, public services announcements, social media, public speaking, publication design and development, community outreach and engagement. The absolute most memorable experience working at United Way was the opportunity to implement a start-up venture as part of a statewide initiative to form volunteer centers across the state of Mississippi. I molded United Way’s new Community Volunteer Center into a model volunteer center in the state through a partnership with the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service. Here, I managed the daily operations of the volunteer center and volunteer management on a $3K budget. I secured a grant through the AmeriCorps Vista volunteer program to hire a full-time staff member to support the mission of the volunteer center.
