Responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with existing and prospective donors, including foundations and trusts. This role involves planning and delivering a diverse range of events and communications to ensure donors are engaged, subsequently generating philanthropic support that enables MHNSW to continue its core business of maintaining, researching and activating its 12 historic sites across New South Wales.

The Head of Foundation was an inaugural role, established to give the Foundation its own identity in order to build a philanthropic culture and positive stakeholder relationships within the College’s wider community. In this role I have the responsibility for securing annual revenue targets, as well as implementing effective strategies for developing and maintaining fundraising initiatives in order to maximise future income potential.

Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Development & Community Relations office, working across six pillars of responsibility; Foundation, Events, Enrolments, Publications and Communications, Community Relations and Alumni engagement. The key objectives being to enhance the profile of the College, deepen the culture of philanthropy and drive community engagement.

Project manage Foundation fundraising and friend raising events. Prepare and manage event budgets, working to agreed numbers.Identify suitable sponsorship packages, source and manage sponsors.Meet event and fundraising objectives - chiefly to increase community engagement and buy-in.Manage and coordinate external agencies, contractors and suppliers.Prepare and manage WIP and marketing plans for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation.Develop and project manage all Foundation communication and marketing material.Schedule and implement Fundraising campaigns e.g. Annual Giving, Bequest Programme, Scholarship and Bursary Programme.Assist with strategic planning and donor research. Donor stewardship - designed to up-scale donor contributions according to their interests and capacity.Build and maintain a close working relationship with all stakeholders, including daily interaction with Foundation Board members.
