I administer the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) plan for the Southern District of West Virginia, where I appoint counsel to represent indigent defendants.

I handled 90% of the chapters 12 and 13 caseload throughout the State of West Virginia. I conducted legal analysis and research relevant to my caseload and divided tasks among my legal team. I litigated issues arising in those proceedings.

I served as a full-time judicial extern for the Honorable Frank W. Volk.

I helped to expand LAWV’s work in the Logan LAWV Office Service Area to secure safety, stability, and economic and educational support for low income and TANF recipient children in rural counties. I conducted outreach, developed community education, and assisted with ongoing cases on behalf of children.

My responsibilities included recruiting students, organizing community service projects, participating in community service projects, overseeing meetings, organizing field trips, raising funds, and mentoring members.

I taught seventh and eighth grade students at two middle schools. I planned and instructed using a wide array of teaching aids, motivational, and implementation strategies to engage students to actively learn. I incorporated multiple learning modules into classroom and individual curriculum. I counseled students when adjustment and academic problems arose. I planned and helped implement school wide reward programs. I coordinated fundraisers, community service activities, and field trips.
