Specifically, in a setting where my career trajectory is nourished and there is room for exploration and growth. I enjoy both individual and couples therapy. Alcoholics Anonymous, harm reduction, abstinence, and Al-Anon.Special Interests: Trauma, PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, survivors of sexual assault, dating and premarital counseling, communication, empowerment after leaving unhealthy relationships, teens 15+, ethical non-monogamy, & LGBTQIAA+.Currently training my 3-year-old Bernedoodle dog Ellie to hopefully earn her therapy dog training to bring into sessions to help clients in various ways as they process what is present for them in that moment. In my experience, animals can elicit a sense of overwhelming calmness and release. I think this will provide additional support of mindfulness that will help clients better verbalize feelings that they cannot access or are blocking access to due to negative life experiences. It is of the utmost honor and privilege to serve and assist one through their therapeutic journey. I view the therapeutic relationship as a therapist and client working together as a team to better understand the person served's struggles. I focus on building rapport and connecting with my clients by providing an emotionally safe, and nonjudgmental space to feel at home. I utilize humor, metaphors, and authenticity, to provide innovative activities, creative approaches, and empirically-backed approaches to provide a realistic, and fun way for clients to have the best experiences.I have a proven ability to provide quality services to diverse populations, especially those struggling with substance use or gambling disorders. Demonstrated track record of success working in both individual, couples, and group settings. Ability to establish rapport quickly, build trust, and relate to people of all walks of life. Eclectic style theoretical approach to therapies used in clinical settings. Quickly responds with solution-based approaches to diffuse stressful situations.
