I built websites using our in-house CMS as well as HTML, CSS, etc. I put together mobile apps for conferences with Attendify integration. I set up storefronts in Magento to sell printed products that were produced/fulfilled in house. I created databases from large amounts of collected information and papers we gathered from conference speakers/authors. I prepared artwork for flashdrives and coordinated with Project Managers and outside vendors. I provided technical support for all of the products I put together via Zendesk. I worked with developers to continually try to improve and test the products we offered.

Design Madison is a nonprofit group of design nerds organizing awesome graphic design related speaker events here in Madison. I help out as needed, update the site, check in our guests at the door at DM events, make sure their account information is up-to-date, maintain our records, take payments, keep people informed via email, attend board meetings and discuss ways to continuously improve upon what we do, and helped put together two great conferences.

I received files from clients via FTP, kept files organized and properly named, prepped them for printing and finishing in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, etc. making sure there were proper bleeds, tics, and correct colors (by finding CMYK equivalents to Pantones), etc. GBP does large format printing with a wide variety of printers and materials for clients like Guess, Coach, Ann Taylor, Kohl's, etc. and pays very close attention to detail. Every printer and material causes colors to appear differently, and we were the sort of nerds who could make everything look consistently great.

I captioned phone calls for the hearing impaired using voice recognition software (Dragon). I also acted as a "lead", monitoring the captioning of others on the call floor, making sure everyone was doing a good job, and offered advice and guidance if they weren't.

I did manual screen printing of textiles and learned how to operate an automatic press. Between printing orders (of sometimes thousands of garments), I helped with folding, tagging, and packaging freshly-printed goods.

As sole, in-house designer, I designed all print ads, working closely with salespeople and clients. I did the layout of a weekly 16-page publication and sent it to our printer via FTP ater preflighting.

I prepared scanned yearbook pages for the press (removing shadows, halftones, and glue, adding rules and page numbers, etc.) and repaired damaged photos in Photoshop. This was a seasonal position that I worked for 2 seasons.
