Sila is scaling the next-generation battery material to power our future. My role as TPM has given me the opportunity to help our team engineer and manufacture it. Starting with Line 3, a production line in Alameda, I've led a technical team through the tool installation, commissioning, process development, and launch of our first product release. I've also managed programs to further develop, change manage, and optimize the production line and product for our customers' needs. In November 2022, I joined our Gen 2 program, supporting the design & deployment of a scaled manufacturing plant in Moses Lake, WA. I continue to grow my experience in driving an engineering solution from concept to production - and through every stage in between.

As a member of the power distribution supply chain team, I managed the commercial network for the development, manufacture, and deployment for the Tesla Supercharger. This public charging station network has approximately doubled in size every year since its first installations, and therefore requires detailed attention to scaling and advancing our supply base, as well as negotiating and implementing cost reduction opportunities that enable continued expansion. Everything must be accomplished at a pace that grows with the vehicle network, satisfies the needs of the customers, and makes the electric vehicle market more attractive and accessible, continuing Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

I attended a summer camp hosted by the UT Women in Engineering Program as a middle school student, where I was introduced for the first time to engineering. That camp singlehandedly set me on a career path that I may not have otherwise discovered. My gratitude went directly back into the organization: I worked at WEP throughout my college experience to continue their mission to recruit, retain, and graduate women in engineering. By acting as a mentor, recruiter, brand ambassador, educator, and role model to young girls and women, I hope to have inspired many others to explore their passions for STEM.

As part of a French immersion program, I was embedded among students of the interior architecture program as an assistant, resulting in a French-language thesis on design. Through a combination of studio participation and scholarly research, I studied the principles of good design, how those principles were being taught, and the cultural influences that contributed to the development of a student’s individual design style.

Working from LEAN principles, I implemented various incremental changes across multiple manufacturing lines. I worked directly with production team members to create simple and effective improvements, while promoting the ethos of respect for safety and quality in all tasks.

Generating the most common customer complaints and the highest revenue lost for the company, I dedicated my internship to analyzing the root-cause of a granule loss defect affecting certain color variants of the roofing shingle product. Lab tests, designed experiments, and data analysis all culminated in the discovery of the causing agent, as well as multiple opportunities for process adjustment. Moreover, the project championed Six Sigma analysis as a tool to proactively affect quality (beyond the retroactive analysis for which it was more commonly being used), and helped to expand the scope and influence of the quality team to enact continuous improvement for the plant.
