This is a time restricted contract position. • Appraise and organize a collection of archival materials related to the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial; arranging by record group, series, and subseries according to an established hierarchy to ensure accessibility• Create stable conservation storage conditions for, and ensure preservation of, records; transferring records to acid free folders and boxes, interleaving acid free archival paper between acidic materials, and separating photographs and audio/visual materials from records• Make on-going changes to arrangement hierarchies to best fit the needs of each collection• Conducted surveys of collections at various parks and evaluated materials for accessioning • Managed collection information and produced finding aids using Interior Collections Management System • Assisted in a collection move by preparing records to be transferred to the Main Interior Building or de-accessioned for long-term storage at the National Archives and Records Administration• Train interns in best practice and practical application of archival theory
